As Pizza Day readers already know, I don’t always feel bad about eating animals.. but when I do, I like to use this vintage butter dish to get my lentil sprouts started. I just rinse them, place them in the dish, cover and let sit overnight. Usually, they have sprouted by the next morning, rinse the sprouts again and put in a glass jar with cheesecloth rubberbanded over the top for air circulation, then put in the fridge to slow growth and use as needed. Remember to rinse them every day! If you try this yourself, make sure your butter dish lid lets the lentils breathe, I usually let mine sit just a little off center so that they’re covered but get plenty of air. That’s it! Remember, you can win friends with salad.
